The Green Curtain Fabrication team brings together experienced craftspeople, educators, and mentors who specialize in scenic construction, props, and experiential builds. United by a passion for both craftsmanship and education, our team works side‑by‑side with students in a professional shop environment, guiding them through real projects that prepare them for careers in the skilled trades.
Site Ops & Build Lead
Meet Derrek Brown, known across the custom community by his handle, @stripelord. Derrek is the person who ensures our complex builds go up smoothly and safely on site. With over 10 years of experience handling logistics, carpentry, AV, and intensive jobsite management within the live entertainment industry, he’s a critical resource for our field execution. As our Site Ops & Build Lead, he utilizes his sharp skills to manage our fabrication teams through the high-pressure demands of major shows. His extensive experience includes contributing to massive venue operations at festivals like Coachella, EDC, Stagecoach, When We Were Young Festival, and large-scale projects, including the Travis Scott stage. Derrek is vital in translating Green Curtain's ambitious designs into stable and safe physical realities, every single time.
Founder & Chief Creative Fabricator
Joshua Goyen is the founder and hands-on driving force behind Green Curtain Fabrication. Bringing a professional mastery built on a foundation of world-class standards, Josh comes from a background rooted in IATSE Local 44 and Carpenters Local 714. He has contributed his expertise to major landmark projects across Los Angeles, including the 6th Street Viaduct Bridge, and executed complex builds for global leaders like Disney and Universal (including Rise of the Resistance and Halloween Horror Nights).
Far from managing from a distance, Josh is intensely hands-on and can often be found on the shop floor, working alongside the team. His technical ability is legendary, earning him the nickname "The Human CNC." This title reflects his unparalleled precision in cutting, his deep command of materials and tooling, and his ability to translate a basic image and numbers into a perfectly scaled, life-size 3D object using pure geometry and woodworking skills.
Balancing this technical prowess is his famously upbeat, witty personality—a trusted collaborator who brings energy and a great sense of humor to every job. Through Green Curtain Fabrication, Josh channels this unique combination of creative spirit and professional skill into building world-class scenic environments while simultaneously training the next generation of respected, high-level makers.
Integrated Solutions Specialist Partner
Jacob Goyen is our Integrated Solutions Specialist Partner and also the owner of possibly.click, tasked with solving the complex challenges that require both digital expertise and hands-on fabrication. He is the core force behind our most ambitious projects, managing everything from advanced IT infrastructure and systems automation to custom set builds and physical prototyping. His unique ability to move projects seamlessly from concept to tangible reality is a major reason Green Curtain Fabrication maintains its operational speed and innovative edge.
Horticultural Design Partner
Allen Goyen is our dedicated Horticultural Design Partner, bringing the living element to Green Curtain Fabrication’s custom projects. As the founder of RPS, he integrates his expertise in high-end horticulture, rare plant sourcing, and custom floral design directly into our scenic builds and experiential environments. This partnership ensures that every themed space, luxury event set, and corporate installation we create is complete with authentic, vibrant, and impeccably maintained greenery, making your projects truly immersive and alive.
Master Craftsman
Lalo Trejo is one of the driving forces behind the craftsmanship at Green Curtain Fabrication. Known to many as @mrhandyfoo, Lalo combines a passion for hands-on building with technical expertise to transform complex designs into reality. As a Master Craftsman, he oversees the execution of custom fabrication projects, ensuring that every detail is finished to the highest standard of quality and durability.
